Lidl launches into the solar sector
The famous hard discount brand Lidl is popular with many consumers, for its food section of course, but also for its range of garden furniture, connected products, DIY tools, and for its many kitchen equipment. /House.
In Germany, Lidl recently launched a brand new product, namely the Parkside PBKW 300 A1 Smart. This is a solar kit that is already causing a stir. For what ? Because of its unbeatable price: only 199 euros!
Coverage of “background noise”
At this price, the buyer of a Parkside PBKW 300 A1 Smart kit leaves with a 150 Wp photovoltaic panel (107 cm x 77.5 cm), without forgetting a 300 W micro-inverter and enough to fix the assembly on a balcony (and at an outlet).
The sign promises an annual electricity production of 100 kWh and guarantees a performance of 80% for 25 years (in addition to a technical guarantee of 10 years). This production would make it possible to cover the electrical consumption of appliances in continuous operation in a household, such as the fridge, the internet box, the TV on standby, etc. (i.e. electrical consumption known as “background noise”). Not enough to compete with the recent solar farms installed in California, but it’s already a good thing.
Obviously, the solar panel is weatherproof, and it has a function on the Lidl Home mobile application, including the possibility of viewing the electricity produced and the savings made.
For the time being marketed only across the Rhine, the solar panel signed Lidl already raises various questions, starting with the quality of its inverter, which could quickly show signs of fatigue and prove to be potentially dangerous. To see now if this solar kit will also be marketed at Lidl in France.
