Currently, as soon as a message exceeds a certain length, it is truncated and you have to press the word “more” to expand the rest. The full-screen display makes the maneuver obsolete, but there is a limit. It only concerns messages from communities and group conversations where only the administrator can post. For now, it is not known if Meta plans to extend the function to all types of conversations. Here’s what it looks like.

The full-screen display is still interesting. When only one person can write in a group, it is easy to imagine that the primary goal is to quickly transmit information to a group of people. By using the entire length of the mobile screen, we avoid hiding elements that could have remained invisible to readers. You can try this feature by signing up to the beta branch of WhatsApp on Android. To do this, go to the WhatsApp beta version site from your browser, click on “Become a test” then follow the instructions. Note that the program may be closed if too many registrants have been reached. You will then have to try your luck again later. Also remember that the deployment of new features does not necessarily happen to all beta testers at the same time. Patience is key.
