After announcing the arrival of 3D backgrounds on iOS and Android as well as reaction emojis in Google Meet, the American firm will soon allow you to have more good time with your colleagues as if they were present by your side. And in music, this time…
Google Meet: work, pleasure… and work
Since last summer, the Mountain View company has somewhat revised the way its customers can use its Google Meet application. Originally designed for remote collaborative work, it has broken down a few barriers in order to open up more to entertainment. It allows you to co-watch videos with your colleagues during your meetings, just to take a short break before returning to your obligations.
This live sharing feature is, for the time being, still reserved for owners of Android devices. In addition, it was until now limited to the YouTube application. Good news: you’ll soon be able to rock out to your favorite tunes while a mountain of work is just waiting to be processed (so don’t forget the work too much, huh).
YouTube Music comes to Google Meet
Today’s news comes straight from our colleagues at 9to5Google : The Google Meet Android app will soon allow users to share music directly from YouTube Music. To put it simply, each of the participants will be able to launch their favorite songs and share them with others during the meetings.
Once live sharing is enabled on YouTube, the meeting exits full-screen mode and enters Picture-in-Picture mode. Plus, anyone can pause or rewind at any time. A notification appears at the bottom of the page to indicate to the various members that the live sharing has been launched. For YouTube Music, the operation should be relatively similar, although we do not have further information at the time of writing these lines.
