Toxicity is very present within VALORANT, the FPS from Riot Games. When we talk about this issue, this may be due to disrespectful teammates and opponents. VALORANT developers are doing everything to put in place new systems to reduce this problem.
Earlier this January, leaks have confirmed the arrival of a picking cascade system within the gameas in League of Legends for example, preventing instalocking (made to directly lock a character upon arrival in the lobby). This was already excellent news because it would allow everyone to play the agent of their choicewhile removing the frustration generated when someone installs our favorite character.
Valorant needs to come out with a trust-factor system or an endorsement system so that toxic/racist/sexist people end up only playing against themselves and regular players get to play with regular players 🙂

Just wanted to say I really like where you’re going with this idea. There are several systems we’re working on & testing right now that we hope will help in this space & whatever we ship will factor in the abuse folks are talking about in replies. Hope we can share more soon. ❤️

However, the fight against toxicity does not stop there for Riot Games, which intends to put in place within its shooter new features to further stifle toxic players. Many players have already suffered abuse on the gamebe it racist, sexist or just overall toxic abuse and even some streamers have been victims of it, like Kyedae or Pokimane. The developers recently responded to some questions on Twitter regarding these issues and how they intend to settle them. They hope to implement, like Overwatch, a system allowing place in separate parts the players who often leave their games or who use exploits. A support system was also mentioned, and there, players should vote for allies or enemies who performed particularly wellgiving them a rank of support, which will allow to make them play with players of the same rank, much like the system that Overwatch has.
It is important to remember that this news does not come from only Tweets and we still don’t officially know anything about the final result however, it is a big step forward against toxicity within his game that Riot seeks to accomplish. If these systems are implemented, this may be the solution to toxicity.
