On the occasion of her birthday, Sophia Thomalla serves up a tough reckoning with showbiz and everyone involved.
The day after her 34th birthday, presenter and actress Sophia Thomalla hits a post into the social media world, which has it all. Her clear reckoning with the showbiz cosmos begins with a relatively harmless thank you to all the well-wishers.
“Thank you very much for all the warm birthday wishes! I would like to thank my closest confidants, partners, friends, family members and closest companions, who have all made me the person I am today. Sometimes a little harsh, but loyal, honest, sharp and always straight forward,” she writes on Instagram alongside a black and white photo of herself, in which she is perfectly styled and looking seriously into the camera.

I would like to thank false friends, false journalists, false feminists, false colleagues, copycats, traitors as well as hateful and envious people on the internet,” she writes, adding: “Thanks to you, I now know exactly who is who.”
And Thomalla learned a lot more from the people mentioned above, as she writes: “You taught me what it means to me to be successful. Namely, not as much as before. What comes, comes, what doesn’t come, doesn’t come. Who I work with is now more important to me than what I work for,” said the host of the dating reality show “Are You The One?”.
She also learned “what it means to have courageous, strong, fearless and hard-working people at my side, both professionally and privately. People whose purpose in life is not the private life of others.” The result: “I prefer to surround myself with simple, good people than with the intelligentsia who constantly want to lecture me.”
Your priorities have therefore shifted. “I would rather go waitressing than say, not say, do or even have things forbidden to me out of fear, pity, need for recognition, addiction to recognition, missionary zeal or paternalistic do-gooder behavior,” writes Thomalla and adds: “That I It’s well known that I feel more comfortable in a bar than in a television studio.”
