Sophie Davant bruised in Gironde: this poignant video of the drama that is playing out before her eyes

For nearly a week, the Gironde has been the victim of huge forest fires, which have already ravaged more than 14,000 hectares of vegetation. And this Monday, July 18, Sophie Davant wanted to take over her Instagram account to express her “sadness” and support the firefighters who continue to fight the flames.

The Gironde hit in the heart by the fires. Since this Tuesday, July 12, more than 14,000 hectares of vegetation have been devoured by the flames, from Landiras, in the South of Gironde, and La Teste, near the Dune du Pilat. More 16,000 people also had to be evacuated, and new evacuations are scheduled for Monday, July 18. In an attempt to fight the flames, more than 1,200 firefighters are mobilized. “We are on ever-increasing fires”, warned firefighters, describing “a powder keg” every afternoon for the past few days. A dramatic event that moved many anonymous and celebrities. The latter have not failed to show their sadness on social networks.

This is for example the case of Sophie Davant this Monday, July 18. Originally from Cestas, in the Graves region, east of the Gironde, the host of France 2 has expressed his “sadness” and supported the mobilized firefighters. “My country is burning! Sadness!“, she thus wrote in story, in caption of a video where we discover a thick gray smoke above the ocean. “Congratulations to the firefighters who are struggling!“ added the presenter of Case concluded on another story.

The stars upset by the fires in Gironde

Like Sophie Davant, other personalities wanted to react to the terrible fires ravaging the Gironde. The journalist from France 2, Laurent Delahoussefor example, posted a photo of smoke on his Instagram account, adding the hashtags #gironde and #fires. For his part, the host of TF1, arthurwished to salute the work of the firefighters by publishing a photo of one of them fighting against the flames. “STRENGTH COURAGE AND RESPECT. For the firefighters of France who fight night and day against the flames. Heroes”, he added in the caption of the photo. Finally Karine Le Marchand chose for his part to give some video advice to his followers. She is indeed filmed at home to give some advice to its subscribers on good habits to adopt. For example, she explained that it was important to do not leave glass bottles lying around in the forests, nor cigarette butts, to think about clearing brush around your home, and above all not to block the roads which could allow the firefighters to intervene quickly.
