Duchess Sophie, wife of Prince Edward, was involved in a serious accident in London. A person is in mortal danger.

Big shock in the British royal family: Duchess Sophie’s (58) escort column was involved in an accident in London on Wednesday (May 11). The wife of Prince Edward (59) and daughter-in-law of the late Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) was unharmed.

But like, among other things “Daily Mail” reports, a woman, who is said to be over 80 years old, is in mortal danger after the collision. Accordingly, a police motorcycle from Duchess Sophie’s escort collided with the passer-by.

The course of the accident is still unclear

It is currently unclear how the accident happened. The London Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said in a statement that the Duchess of Edinburgh’s “thoughts and prayers are with the injured woman and her family”. In addition, Duchess Sophie was grateful for the “quick reaction” of the rescue workers.

According to information from the British daily newspaper, the seriously injured woman is still in critical condition in a hospital. Her family has been informed. No other injuries were reported.
