Sophie Xeon was "a pioneer of a new sound" and was one of the most influential artists of the past decade, the statement said. Her British label Transgressive Records also commented on the tragedy: "True to her spirituality, she climbed up to watch the full moon, and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be with us," says the website.

Sophie Xeon was born in 1986 in Glasgow as Samuel Longauf. In 2013 she released her debut single "Nothing More To Say". For her album "Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides" (2018) the musician was even nominated for a Grammy in the category "Best Dance / Electronic Album". Xeon also worked with great musicians like Madonna (62) and in 2015 co-wrote her single "Bitch I'm Madonna". Sophie Xeon confessed to being a trans woman a few years ago.
