Sosh welcomes 5G in confusion orchestrated by Orange

Orange recently introduced 5G in its Sosh offers, with a new 140 GB package at 20.99 euros per month, specially aimed at new subscribers. For current subscribers who wish to switch to the new offer, be vigilant.

June 2 update:

Finally, the Sosh plan is finally available for everyone.

The situation turns out to be more complex than it initially appears, but we have obtained clarification. It seems that Orange has opted for a simple economic logic: not allow customers who are currently paying a higher rate to switch to the new cheaper plan, with the aim of minimizing financial losses. However, this strategy could backfire and lead to loss of customers.

Therefore, if you are currently subscribed to the 25.99 euro package for 70 GB, you may not be eligible to switch to the new, more advantageous 5G offer. This decision, which seems pragmatic from a financial point of view, could however cause significant frustration among subscribers.

However, some customers have been found to have successfully made this transition, but this appears to be the result of a technical error. According to the information gathered, this possibility was not provided for by the operator and therefore should not have been possible. This anomaly further adds to the general confusion around the deployment of 5G at Sosh.

It seems that Orange has finally decided to backtrack. Indeed, the new 5G package is now also offered to current customers. What turns out to be quite funny is that both 5G packages are currently available on the market. So be careful not to make a mistake when choosing!

However, not all subscribers seem to be eligible for this new 20.99 euro plan. Indeed, some Sosh customers do not have the option to migrate to this new offer. This contributes to a situation that is chaotic to say the least and leaves an impression of disorder in the management of the operator’s offers.

Customer service is also not aware of the possibility of switching to the 140 GB 5G package for current subscribers. There is something quite humorous to observe in this turnaround at Orange. The general conditions of the operator always mention that it is not possible for current subscribers to switch to the most advantageous package. It seems that the correction of this inconsistency is done in pain, adding another note of confusion to the whole process.

After several years of patience, the time has finally come: Orange has finally rolled out 5G on its Sosh offers. This low-cost, non-binding mobile offer has just reached a new major technological milestone, well after its direct competitors. But as the saying goes, better late than never.

The flagship offer announced by Orange for this 5G foray into the Sosh universe is a 140 GB package offered at 20.99 euros per month. A competitive price, certainly. However, there is a but: this rate is exclusively reserved for new subscribers!

For their part, current Sosh subscribers are not left out, at least in theory. Orange offers them a specific package, which might seem attractive at first glance. However, this 70 GB package is billed at 26 euros per month, i.e. a higher cost for a lower capacity than that offered to newcomers. A choice of strategy that raises many questions.

Especially since Orange already provides its customers with a 5G 100 GB package at a promotional price of 16.99 euros per month for the first year, without obligation. This offer, in comparison with those proposed to Sosh subscribers, adds an additional level of complexity to the commercial strategy of the operator.

Is Orange really trying to retain its current customers?

The question on everyone’s lips is: is Orange really trying to retain its current customers? This question seems all the more relevant when we know that it is more expensive to acquire new customers than to retain those already present.

OK then @Sosh_en launched its first 5G package of 140 GB for €21 per month.

Except that, it is reserved for new subscribers. What a fucking bunch of clowns.

Former subscribers can switch to a 70 GB package at €26, i.e. 2.8 times more expensive per GB.

Such a decision on the part of Orange is surprising, even disconcerting, and it has already generated many reactions within the community of Sosh subscribers.
