License Megami Tensei ofAtlus is no longer very young, it which started in 1987. Since then, it has mainly divided into multiple branches, with mainly the Shin Megami Tensei and the personas. The latter fly on their own and no longer even display the name of the license since the fifth episode, and they will no longer be the only ones to do the same. For several days now, the Japanese studio tease the reveal of a new game related to Devil Summoner – Soul Hackersa SEGA Saturn title that was brought up to date on 3DS in 2012. Well, the presentation Aion Live Broadcasting Sequence of this Monday noon revealed the one who will simply be called Soul Hackers 2 !
This Soul Hackers 2 will be released on August 25, 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One in Japan and the following day, August 26, in the rest of the world, with a PC edition (Steam and Windows Store) for everyone on this date! Yes, Switch players may be disappointed… This role-playing game produced and directed by Eiji Ishida and Mitsuru Hirata will have a signed soundtrack MONACA and a chara design provided by Shirow Miwa, while Shinjirō Takata (producer of several games Devil Summoner) officiates on the project as production manager.
The scenario will make us embody a certain ringowho will be accompanied by at least three other characters: Arrow, Milady and Saizou. In the near future in the 21st century, two factions of Devil Summoners oppose, the Yatagarasu and the Phantom Society of which our protagonists are part. While a supernatural being called aion and watching over the world senses its imminent end, he sends ringo and Fig on Earth to avoid disaster, except that the two people they were supposed to protect have already died. ringo will then resuscitate them thanks to the Soul Hack and join them in trying to save the world.
In a war involving the Demon Summoners, it’s up to Ringo and his team to decipher Fate and save the world from the apocalypse. Hack this brand new game to avoid the destruction of the planet.
Soul Hackers 2 will be dubbed in English and Japanese with the ability to switch from one to the other, while subtitles will be offered in French, English, Italian, German and Spanish. Characters
Agent of the next generation cybernetic lifeform Aion. A newborn with a strong curiosity for society, culture and human emotions. She stands on the front line with Arrow and other Devil Summoners, working hard to prevent the end of the world.
Agent of Aion, like Ringo. She’s cool and low-key, like Ringo’s big sister and pushes her forward at her own pace. She also has an interest in and admiration for humanity, and does not participate directly in combat, but is tasked with analyzing information and providing logistical support.
A Devil Summoner belonging to Yatagarasu. He is among the detected targets to be protected by Aion to avoid the end of the world and was killed while undercover. Ringo brought him back to life thanks to the Soul Hack. He is usually a quiet young man who doesn’t speak much. However, he is very passionate, honest and highly values morality. Because of this, he and Milady often argue.
A Devil Summoner and member of the Phantom Society. She was killed by an ally for an unknown reason, revived by Ringo and accompanies him in search of the reason for his death. She is calm, rational and values efficiency, sometimes being able to make ruthless decisions, but her past experiences seem to play a part.
- Psyzo (Masaya Matsukaze)
An independent Devil Summoner. He was killed by a Phantom Society agent and resurrected by Ringo. He accompanies her and the others in the pursuit of a certain objective. He is a romantic, a charmer and a show-off. Since he knows how to read the atmosphere and act accordingly, he is often the mediator between Arrow and Milady. He ensures the proper functioning of the team.
Important terms
A being beyond human comprehension, born from the confines of technology. He watches over the human world in the shadows. One day, he senses the impending end of the world and sends Agents Ringo and Figue to prevent it.
Humans who make contracts with demons and use their incredible abilities to solve problems beyond comprehension. There are also a few Summoners who use their powers for evil, such as assassination and crime. Ringo and his companions fight to avoid destruction and become involved in the opposing groups of Devil Summoners, Phantom Society and Yatagarasu.
Spirit beings that have existed alongside humans since ancient times. They are not necessarily evil creatures, and even gods and fairies come under the name of demons. It is said that in a certain place, a secret art allows to merge demons to form new ones.
A gadget that helps summon demons. Each user’s COMP has a different shape and can be changed to look like their favorite item or decoration. Ringo and the party’s COMPs have been modified with Aion’s technology, allowing them to directly equip demons to the COMP.
One of the features of Aion. It is the ability to step in and improve a person’s mind and soul. Ringo uses the Soul Hack on those who have just died and intervenes in their memories at the time of their death. It makes it possible to revive the person by bringing out their regrets at the time of death and by their strong desire to live.
