During TennoCon 2022, the development studio behind Warframe, Digital Extremes, unveiled its next game. It is called “Soulframe” and is expected to be a free-to-play action-MMORPG.
For the occasion, Digital Extremes shared a first video presenting the world and the themes addressed in Soulframe. We know that, on the gameplay side, the title will offer an open world and an adventure “ heavily influenced by themes of nature, restoration and exploration “. In addition, the action-MMORPG from Digital Extremes will have a cooperative dimension and the levels will be procedurally generated.
Warframe director Steve Sinclair was recently interviewed by reporters from The Washington Post. He thus explained the differences and similarities between Soulframe and its elder, Warframe. Steve Sinclair said: Where Warframe is shooting focused, this one is melee focused. Where Warframe is super fast and goes high speed, this one will be much slower and thinking. But it still has a lot of similarities to the genre we’re experienced in. “.
At the moment, Soulframe development is still in its early stages. So, don’t expect to be able to get your hands on the title this year. It’s a safe bet that the action-MMORPG from the creators of Warframe will not be available until the end of 2023, or even in 2024.
