2024 looks to be the year that open-back headphones boom. Many brands are getting into it, like Bose and Huawei with their Ultra Open Earbuds and FreeClip concepts in the shape of an earring, or Shokz and JBL with their OpenFit and Soundgear Sense, more conventional in their design. Soundcore seems to have taken inspiration from these when designing its new AeroFit and AeroFit Pro. Indeed, they adopt a design with a flexible hook which is placed at the back of the ear to hold the earphone in place. A protuberance then rests against the concha without causing a feeling of intrusion and in fact leaving the ear canal in the open air.

A more muscular technical sheet for the AeroFit Pro

The two pairs of headphones are similar in design, but differ in terms of on-board features. The Pro model stands out from the AeroFit first and foremost by a more advanced acoustic architecture, with a 16.2 mm speaker compared to 14 mm, compatibility with the LDAC Bluetooth codec and the presence of a Spatial Audio mode which virtualizes n any content in 3D listening bubble. Both models feature BassUp technology, which would provide nice bass extension, even with an open design.

The AeroFit Pro also stands out in terms of autonomy. Allow 14 hours per charge for the latter compared to 11 hours for the AeroFit. Each case provides approximately three additional charges. The non-Pro model, however, takes the advantage in the waterproof index with IPX7 certification compared to IPX5 for the AeroFit Pro. Both pairs of headphones are additionally protected against sweat.

The AeroFit and AeroFit Pro are already available at prices of €129.99 and €169.99 respectively.
