Announced in 2020 by the Swedish studio Carry Castle and available in early access on Steam since September 2021, Source of Madness releases May 11, 2022. Published by Thunderful Publishing, the game will be playable on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
A side-scrolling action roguelike, Source of Madness will immerse you in an alternate reality largely inspired by the Lovecraft universe. You will also come across many dark cosmic creatures, as the author likes them so much. In the heart of the Loam Lands, you will play as a disciple who, through a nightmarish journey, tries to unlock the secrets of the source of evil that hangs over the Marl Land and the Tower of Madness.
The nine biomes present in the game see their environment as well as the monsters which populate them procedurally generated. What continue to surprise you over the games. To carry out your adventure, you will have the choice between five classes. But it will also be possible to unlock various skills – active or passive – as well as magic abilities in the talent tree using the resources picked up on your way.
