Religion is important in South Korea, with 20% of the population being Protestant and 11% being Catholic. And it is on this audience that start-ups are based to develop AI focused on faith, like the Awake Corporation group, which created the Meadow chatbot.
Based on Chatgpt, this AI opens up all religious knowledge to the faithful who have existential questions to ask. Like ChatGPT which browses the web, Meadow will explore the pages of the Bible to find passages capable of answering the doubts of the faithful.
Beware of heresy!
According to France Info, Meadow was very successful, counting some 50,000 users just three days after it was made publicly available. Enough to give ideas to competitors, like this other AI Wisely, which reads the Bible using the copied voices of dozens of human pastors.
But this use, strange for some, ingenious for others, also has its opponents. Indeed, artificial intelligences are known to sometimes wander, and other times to give false information.
