South of the Circle: Narrative Indie Arrives at a Pokey Price on PC and Consoles Today

Originally released on mobiles, South of the Circle is now available on PC and consoles as of today. The story of this narrative game takes place in the 1960s during the Cold War, shortly after the signing of the Antarctic Treaty which laid the foundations aimed at avoiding a nuclear war between Russia and the Western world.

South a the Circle is supported by an original and successful graphic charter, realistic animations and above all an exceptional cast for a game of this category. You can hear the voices of Anton Lesser (Game Of Thrones, Star Wars: Andor), Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Olivia Vinall (The Woman in White), Richard Goulding (The Crown), Adrian Rawlins (Chernobyl) and Michael Fox (Downton Abbey). Impressive, right? Luke Whittaker, Creative Director of the game said:

I was fascinated by the surreal beauty of Antarctica, especially in the 60s, due to the low technology that existed at the time. We had a family friend who was there at the time. All of her photos were incredibly inspiring. He could tell us all these stories and some of them were even integrated into the game. We analyzed what happens to a person when they are removed from all the structures of their daily life. What happens to us when we are separated from all political and social institutions? It was a great way to explore a person’s mind, because when you’re in such an environment, what else do you have?

The game produced by 11 Bit Studios offers a three-hour purely narrative experience through the eyes of To farta Cambridge University professor who reminisces about his past as he tries to survive in Antarctica after a plane crash. It will be for him, and for us, the opportunity to understand how the political powers have influenced his life and that of his lover. Clara only to end up lost in the middle of almost nothing.

South of the Circle is available on PC (Steam, GOG), nintendo-switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PS4 at a price of €12.99. Launch promotions are announced on all platforms.
