Southeast Asia’s Largest Sneaker Seller Accepts Payments in Bitcoin (BTC)

Sneaker store Novelship now accepts Bitcoin (BTC) as payment

Novelship, the largest online sneaker seller in Asia-Pacific, now accepts cryptocurrency payments. On its official website, the store explains that it accepts Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH) and Tether’s USDT stablecoin as an alternative means of payment. Cryptocurrency payments are offered in all countries where Novelship is accessible.

In a press release published on March 16, 2022, Noveship declares that it has established a partnership with TripleAa cryptocurrency payment platform for online or physical businesses.

“We are delighted to help Novelship delight its users, who will now be able to pay directly with their digital wallet”says Eric Barbier, CEO of TripleA.

Founded in 2017, TripleA is approved by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The company claims to meet regulators’ anti-money laundering requirements. TripleA is responsible in particular for verifying the identity of buyers by means of a form KYC (Know your Customer).

Novelship claims to meet customer demand

Novelship justifies the integration of cryptocurrency payments by strong customer demand. According to the brand, many store users expressed their ” strong interest “ for digital currencies.

“At Novelship, we love […] remain open to adopting new technologies and innovations on our platform by actively listening to our users. A strong example of this is the internal survey we commissioned which found an overwhelming number of clients surveyed were interested in alternative assets such as cryptocurrency.”explains Richard Xia, CEO of Novelship.

In the press release, TripleA also believes that it is not surprising that sneaker lovers are interested in the world of digital assets. The two sectors have often united in the past. Several sneaker brands, such as Nike or Adidas, have launched non-fungible tokens (NFT) of their shoes.

Mirroring Novelship, many companies are surveying their customers about cryptocurrencies. This is particularly the case ofAirbnb. During a survey, users of the platform demanded the arrival of payments in digital currencies. Airbnb has therefore committed to looking into the integration of cryptocurrency payments.

More and more businesses are beginning to accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. Since the end of 2021, the Mexican chain of stores Grupo Elektra accepts payment in Bitcoin (BTC).

Let us also quote Konzum, the largest supermarket chain in Croatia, which has been accepting Bitcoin and Ether (ETH) since last December. According to Coinmap, we find 29229 businesses that accept Bitcoin in the world.
