SP flag at community – May 1st was a political day of struggle

“Labor Day” is still charged in the political field. While the turquoises are outraged by a socialist flag in front of the municipal office in Münchendorf, Mödling district, an unnecessary sign is set against the political leaders in Oberwaltersdorf, Baden district – the people went for a walk.

The perfect weather on May 1st ensured numerous hiking tours and walks across the country. So while the people were enjoying the holiday, the class struggle was once again the order of the day in the domestic political scene. In Münchendorf, passers-by could see the social democratic symbol of the three arrows for the “fight against fascism, clericalism and capitalism”. The SP community leadership may have forgotten once again that an official building is not a party headquarters, say the critics. The TP foams: “This behavior shows the otherworldly understanding of democracy. Putting party politics above community work is wrong. May 1st as Labor Day is a day on which we should think about how we can further promote and support work, not a day to make a name for ourselves, ”said parish party leader Doris Kirstorfer resolutely.

While the flag was rolled up again on Sunday, the clean-up work in Oberwaltersdorf is likely to take unnecessarily longer. The place-name sign was brazenly smeared by unknown perpetrators and probably subsequently destroyed. The costs for the “political criticism” are still being raised
