PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Financial rating agency S&P Global Ratings announced on Friday that it has placed Eutelsat’s short and long-term credit ratings under review with negative implications, due to the planned merger between the operator of satellites and the British Internet service provider OneWeb. “We believe Eutelsat’s credit metrics are likely to deteriorate significantly post-merger, with prospects for recovery currently uncertain,” S&P said in a statement. The agency specifies that it will await the effective completion of the merger before announcing a possible downgrading of the rating, and that it could on the contrary confirm it if the operation does not go to completion.
