MADRID (Reuters) – A worker at the Ukrainian embassy in Spain was injured on Wednesday by an explosion that occurred while handling a letter, Spanish police said.
His injuries were minor and he rushed to a hospital on his own, police said.
Investigators are on the spot, helped by the scientific police and members of the intelligence services.
The area around the embassy has been cordoned off, state broadcaster TVE reported.
It was not immediately possible to reach the Ukrainian embassy.
In Kyiv, the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmitro Kouleba, called for a reinforcement of security measures in all the embassies of Ukraine following this explosion.
