Spain-Ryanair cabin crew renew their strike for 12 days in July – 02/07/2022 at 17:37


MADRID, July 2 (Reuters) – Cabin crew at Ryanair RYA.I in Spain, who have been on a three-day strike for better working conditions since Thursday, are renewing their strike for 12 days in July, unions said on Saturday. USO and SICTPLA.

The airline had to cancel several flights from Thursday to Saturday and will again face disruption due to a split strike at the ten Spanish airports where it operates.

The movement is renewed from July 12 to 15, from July 18 to 21 and from July 25 to 28, specify in a press release the unions, which demand “a change of attitude of the management”.

Ryanair cabin crew have been observing walkouts in Belgium, Spain, Portugal, France and Italy since June to demand higher wages and better working conditions, as a wave of strikes affects aviation in Europe in the face of soaring inflation.

Ryanair employees claim that the Irish airline does not respect the Labor Codes of the countries concerned, in particular with regard to minimum remuneration, and denounce degraded working conditions.
