A 15-year-old boy is suspected of shooting his parents and 10-year-old brother following a dispute over poor school performance. He was arrested, police said.
The tragedy, which occurred on Tuesday evening in a rural area near Elche, 20 kilometers from the port city of Alicante (south-east of the country), was only discovered on Friday evening by a relative who came to take family news.
Alone in the house for three days with the corpses
“The mother’s sister came to the house because she had no news from the family and that’s when her nephew told her that he had killed his father, his mother and his brother”, said said a police spokesman.
Alerted, the police then found three bodies lying in the house.
The teenager had been left alone in the house with the corpses for three days.
The young suspect said he ‘got into a fight with his mum about his grades at school’ and then used his dad’s shotgun to kill her, then gunning down his 10-year-old brother and finally his father.
The family was from the area but was not known to police, the spokesperson said.
