“Spark created” – box exploded, lid hit two workers

An accident in a workshop on Wednesday in the Baden district of Lower Austria claimed two serious injuries. When two workers opened an airtight transport box, there was a sudden explosion. The lid of the container was thrown against the two men – helicopter use!

The two workers, aged 22 and 27, started opening the transport box shortly before 1 p.m. in a hall in Enzesfeld-Lindabrunn. There was a brake cleaner mixture in the container. One of the cans is said to have been damaged in advance and its contents leaked out. “Sparks caused by static electricity” “When the box was opened, a spark should have been caused by static electricity,” the police reported on Thursday. As a result, there was an explosion. Due to the force, the lid of the box was literally blown off and thrown against the two men. Both the 22-year-old and the 27-year-old suffered serious injuries. After the first aid, the two workers were transported by emergency helicopter. They were admitted to the Landesklinikum Wiener Neustadt or to the Klinikum Donaustadt.
