A revival of Starz’s brutal gladiator series “Spartacus” was announced at the beginning of the year. The sequel is set to be directed by original creator Steven S. DeKnight. Surprising: Lead actor Liam McIntyre is now speaking!
Series star McIntyre presented his very own suggestions for the comeback of the historical drama via Twitter. The story is said to begin with the resurrection of Spartacus in the afterlife and continue with an all-out war between him and the god of the underworld, Hades. The fate of his late wife Sura is also at stake.
Fans of “Spartacus” are delighted with his proposal! When asked what series creator Steven S. DeKnight thought of the new plans to continue the series, McIntyre modestly replied, “Steve’s [Pläne] will be better.”
The lead actor’s pitch is therefore not yet decided, but fits in with the concept of the original series, which ran from 2010 to 2013. There were already supernatural elements back then, and setting the gladiator series in the afterlife could be a nice extension of the storyline. Whether McIntyre’s ideas will prevail will only become apparent in the new “Spartacus” revival!
