In addition to financial problems, anyone who provides 24-hour care for relatives also faces a shortage of caregivers. “We can no longer afford to work for a fee that hasn’t changed in 15 years,” says Bibiana Kudzinova from Slovakia, who represents the professional group of caregivers in the specialist group. Among other things, the wave of inflation hit many nursing staff from Slovakia, where prices had also risen. The increased travel costs are also a challenge.
