Spectacular accident in Birkfeld: A driver lost control of her car, it rammed the guardrail, overturned down the embankment several times – and landed on the roof of a family house below! Miraculously, the 23-year-old was only slightly injured. But she has lost her driver’s license for the time being; the alcohol test was positive.
The 23-year-old, who comes from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district, drove in Birkfeld towards Pöllau at around 9.45pm on Friday. Suddenly her vehicle came off the main road and hit the guardrail. As a result, it slid down the embankment, overturning several times. And fell on the roof of a house before it hit the pavement. The 23-year-old somehow managed to free herself from the badly damaged vehicle, and witnesses alerted the emergency services. The woman suffered only minor injuries. However, her alcohol test later turned out positive, which meant that her driving license was taken away for the time being. The Birkfeld fire brigade was in action with 18 Florianis and three vehicles, and there was massive property damage to the family home. The residents of the house were at home, but luckily they were unharmed.
