Liam Neeson, 71, still has some under the pedal! After the recent action films Memory, Ice Road, The Veteran or Blacklight, the actor is back with Retribution!
In this thriller expected for August 23 in theaters, Neeson plays Matt, a successful businessman. The latter discovers that a bomb has been planted in the car he is driving by an unknown assailant.
This mysterious person orders him to perform a series of actions throughout the day or the bomb will explode…killing him and his family. Retribution marks the return of director Nimród Antal to cinema, 13 years after Predators with Adrien Brody.
Between Speed and A Day in Hell, this thriller is a remake of Unknown Call, a Spanish film released in 2016. Luis Tosar played Carlos, the equivalent of Liam Neeson’s character in Retribution.
In the remake, Jack Champion, a young actor who played Spider in Avatar 2, plays Matt’s son. For his part, Matthew Modine plays Liam Neeson’s partner, embarked despite himself on this deadly adventure.
Retribution hits theaters August 23, 2023.
