At the premiere of “Spencer” the audience celebrated Kristen Stewart with a standing ovation lasting several minutes. Is she getting the Oscar now?
The premiere of “Spencer” seems to have been a complete success, especially for leading actress Kristen Stewart (31). The new work by Pablo Larraín (45) was shown for the first time at the Venice International Film Festival. For her portrayal of the late Princess Diana (1961-1997) Stewart received a standing ovation of around three minutes from the audience. as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”. But that’s not all: Stewart, who apparently struggled with tears when she hugged Larraín after the screening, is reportedly already being considered a candidate for an award at the next Oscars. There are already rumors in Venice that the actress could get her first Oscar nomination thanks to “Spencer”.

The film is set at the Sandringham House country estate during the Christmas holidays in the early 1990s – a weekend when Diana is said to have decided to get a divorce. The film production company Neon pointed out in advance that the events in “Spencer” were fiction.
