Spider-Man: 6 Times Tom Holland Spoiled The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Interpreter of Spider-Man since 2016, Tom Holland is also known for his blunders in interviews concerning the plot of his future films. Back to 6 moments when the young actor spoiled the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Regularly nicknamed Spoiler-Man by fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and sometimes even deprived of a script by the production (so that he doesn’t make a mistake), comedian Tom Holland is now famous for his many blunders in interviews or on sets of TV.

Indeed, since 2016 and his arrival in the great family of the Avengers, the interpreter of Spider-Man who, by his own admission, “can’t keep a secret”has repeatedly inadvertently revealed several plot elements of his future films.

Back on his 6 most beautiful blunders…

  • As we can see at around 8 minutes and 30 seconds into the video above, it was at our microphone that Tom Holland committed one of his most famous blunders. Coming to talk about Spider-Man: Homecoming, his first solo adventure in the MCU, he indeed mentioned two other future feature films dedicated to Spider-Man, even though the third opus had not yet been officially announced by the production. “Sorry, Marvel. Oops!”he then apologized when he noticed his dumpling.
  • Also during the Homecoming promotion in 2016, while responding to fans in a Facebook Live, Tom Holland let slip another detail about the film’s plot. “There was a time when they hung my poor stunt double from a helicopter and dropped it in a lake”he confided, thus revealing the sequence where Spider-Man, dropped from the top of the sky by the Vulture, almost drowned.

Sony Pictures Releasing France

  • “I’m alive !” (“I’m alive !”), shouted Tom Holland when arriving on stage during a preview of Avengers: Infinity War, in 2018, anxious to reassure his fans after the disappearance of his character, at the end of the feature film. Only small problem: the screening had not yet taken place, and none of the spectators had therefore seen the film!
  • In April 2018, shortly before the release of Infinity War, Tom Holland had already revealed another spoiler on the film. “I was reading the script, and I felt like it was fake, because I couldn’t believe Spider-Man was going to space.”he said in front of a Jimmy Kimmel taken aback by this unexpected revelation.
  • A year later, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Spoiler-Man struck again! In full promotion of Avengers: Endgame, Tom Holland had inadvertently alluded to one of the keys to the plot. “[Benedict] has the most difficult lines. He has a lot to say about the Quantum Realm”he had simply dropped in front of the interpreter of Doctor Strange, visibly quite embarrassed.
  • Finally, in full pre-production of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the young actor had proudly presented on his social networks the cover of the new scenario that he had just received. The opportunity for fans to preview the film’s logo and its final title, which the production had kept secret until now.
