Will the animated protagonist of the new “Spider-Man” movie appear in a live action movie soon? This is now indicated by the producer of the work.

The animated film “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” has just started in German cinemas, when the producers of the Marvel film from Sony are already promising more. Asked about the possibility of a live-action version of Miles Morales and an animated “Spider-Woman” movie starring Gwen Stacy on the sidelines of the premiere of “Across the Spider-Verse”, explained producer Amy Pascal (65) according to “Variety”.: “You will see it all. Everything happens.”

Unfortunately, the long-time producer of the “Spider-Man” universe from Sony has not yet been able to elicit any more details. However, Pascal’s production partner Avi Arad (74) added that a “Spider-Woman” film will probably be released in theaters “sooner than one would expect”.

Competition for Tom Holland?

For “Spider-Man” fans, this little information immediately raises a whole series of questions. Actor Shameik Moore (28) lends his voice to main character Miles Morales/Spider-Man in the original English version of “Across the Spider-Verse”. But will the 28-year-old also take on this role in a live-action film? And would the new live-action Spider-Man films then be linked to the great Marvel Cinematic Universe, in which Tom Holland (27) already embodies the friendly neighborhood spider?

First, however, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,” the next installment in the animated film series, will hit theaters in March 2024 before either an animated Gwen Stacy or a non-animated Miles Morales gets their own film.

Tom Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film is on hold due to the writers’ strike

Because of the ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood, the next “Spider-Man” film with Tom Holland is currently on hold. There have already been “meetings” on the still untitled “Spider-Man 4” from Sony and Marvel, but these are currently “interrupted” “out of solidarity with the authors”, as leading actor Holland “Variety” revealed.

US screenwriters have been on strike since May 2nd. The representatives of the major studios and streaming services have not responded to the demands of the Writers Guild of America. The authors’ union fights for better pay and better framework conditions for the work of its members. After a settlement, however, work on “Spider-Man 4” should continue. This was also confirmed by producer Pascal.
