“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” makes Miles Morales as popular as the original Spider-Man. A live-action adaptation is already being planned and one candidate definitely wants the leading role.

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is in the top 10 highest grossing films this year, with the Super Mario film leading the way. No wonder there are already numerous Spider-Man films in the making. One of them is to be a live-action adaptation of Miles Morales, who also plays the leading role in the animated film. Actor Shameik Moore lends his voice there and he is more than ambitious to embody him.
The 28-year-old seems more than ready to slip into the Spider Man suit. He also stated in an interview with The Hook that he doesn’t see anyone else in the role. His fellow actor Daniel Kaluuya (“Judas and the Black Messiah”) is fully behind him, as the following excerpt shows.
There’s just one problem, as Moore himself notes on his Instagram story: “Time to lose weight so you can see Miles more clearly.” Therefore, he has now decided that the pounds should tumble to do justice to the role of Miles Morales. Live-action adaptations of Spider-Man are still in pre-production and it will probably be some time before filming begins. So Moore still has a reprieve.
Before that, however, he will be lending his voice to Spider-Man again in the sequel to “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, “Beyond the Spider-Verse”. The film will start in cinemas in March 2024.
