The weeks follow each other and look alike at the US box office. Spider-Man No Way Home is still in the lead, coming dangerously close to Avatar’s #3 spot on the US charts.

Spider-Man No Way Home continues to weave its web at the top of the US box office, collecting an additional $11 million. On American territory, it has now reached the score of 735 million, threatening the 3rd place of Avatar (760M) in the ranking of the biggest hits in the United States.
The film, which has just overtaken the first Spider-Man film by Sam Raimi in France, is now the 4th highest grossing of all time, behind Star Wars VII, Avengers: Endgame and Avatar. Will Peter Parker exceed the 760 million dollars in revenue from James Cameron’s film in the United States? It will be done in a few weeks if the film continues on this momentum.
The Marvel film is currently missing 25 “small” million dollars to overtake Avatar at the American box office. Which turns out to be quite possible since after 6 weekends, No Way Home was 31% ahead of Avatar admissions in the same period (which was at $551.7 million at the end of the week -end).
Note that No Way Home became the 6th most profitable film internationally, surpassing Jurassic World (1.67 billion dollars) and The Lion King (1.66 billion dollars) with a total of 1.73 billion. of dollars, including $1 billion from foreign territories. The 1st still being Avatar with 2.85 billion dollars in revenue worldwide. The Spider-Man therefore signs a real feat in these times of pandemic. A feat all the more remarkable that the work was not released in China.
For its part Ghostface continues to scare the public, registering 7.3 million dollars for its 3rd week of operation. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s film totaled $62 million at the US box office.
The animated movie All on stage 2 continues its momentum and clings to 3rd position with 4.8 million for its 6th weekend. The sequel to the adventures of Buster Moon and his band of singing animals has thus accumulated 134.5 million dollars since its release in North America.
historical romance Redeeming Love by DJ Caruso, adapted from a best-seller, is in 4th position for its second week of operation with 1.8 million dollars. The film is followed by The King’s Man: First Mission which recorded $1.7 million for a cumulative $34 million for its 6th week.
