Andrew Garfield has just announced that he will take a break from his career in order to recharge his batteries.
Recently in the cast of the feature films Spider-Man: No Way Home, In the eyes of Tammy Faye and Tick, Tick … Boom! and soon to star in the detective series On God’s Order, (broadcast on Star, the adult branch of Disney +) Andrew Garfield wants to take a break from his career in order to rest and recharge his batteries for the future .
The 38-year-old comedian told the magazine People that he was looking forward to no longer being in the spotlight. “I’m really happy and excited to have the opportunity to be quiet so that I can take time to just be me.“
He adds : “That feels paramount to me right now, especially after touring a lot, showing myself a lot, and putting a lot of energy into doing these things that I’m passionate about. I feel that I have to rest.”
The actor, who recently donned the Spider-Man costume which was revealed to the general public in 2012, adds: “It’s so exhilarating to live this way, to constantly move on to the next project. I know it’s a privilege that I can even consider this, but I want to take some time for myself.“

Andrew Garfield explains to the magazine that the gymnast Simone Biles has also inspired him a lot. “His way of saying: “No, I’m not going to take that jump. I’m going to put myself in danger if I do it today”. I think it’s really an amazing example“.
He adds : “I really admire these people who manage to give up the temptation to always be on the front of the stage. Those who can live at their own pace. This is what I’m looking forward to.”
Do things that will “deeply touch the audience”
The actor therefore does not put an end to his career but will take a well-deserved break in order to recharge his batteries. He makes it clear that he wants to come back when he’s sure he’s doing things that feel authentic to him and that “will deeply touch the public“.

He specifies at the microphone of variety : “I need to refocus, to think about what I want to do next (…). Because you know, awards season is a real spinner. I’m not complaining, I just need some normalcy.”
Andrew Garfield has indeed chained the interviews to promote his films. He was also nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in Tick, Tick…Boom!. Role for which he received the Golden Globes for Best Actor in a Comedy.
