Spie supports the digital transformation of the American Hospital of Paris

(Boursier.com) — SPIE ICS, a French digital services company, subsidiary of SPIE, independent European leader in multi-technical services in the fields of energy and communications, is supporting the American Hospital of Paris in the implementation new digital uses for caregivers, patients and cross-functional functions.
The basis of this transformation is based on advice, integration, maintenance and outsourcing of new digital infrastructures. The American Hospital of Paris is thus improving the resilience and scalability of its information systems, while protecting its data. Winning these various contracts demonstrates the ability of SPIE ICS teams to offer innovative and secure solutions for a healthcare establishment.

A non-profit organization recognized as being of public utility, the American Hospital of Paris is a multidisciplinary health establishment accredited by both the American Joint Commission and the French High Authority of Health. The American Hospital of Paris places quality of service at the heart of its practices and emphasizes confidentiality and availability of data in the care of its patients. Information systems play an essential role in the challenges posed by these two issues.

Better infrastructure resilience

The American Hospital of Paris wanted to overhaul its storage and virtualization infrastructure to gain volume and redundancy. The SPIE ICS teams recommended a solution based on HPE and Pure Storage technologies, which makes it possible to strengthen the security and resilience of the systems, while facilitating their administration.

In addition to these two technologies, SPIE ICS has combined a new device to protect the hospital from ransomware. This complete solution convinced the hospital’s IT department, who appreciated the overall expertise on data center infrastructure provided by SPIE ICS.
After this first integration, the hospital again contacted the SPIE ICS teams in order to strengthen the security around their data. SPIE ICS intervened to protect the backup of IT environments (production and Microsoft 365) by deploying the Rubrik solution.

Evolution of the outsourcing of the hospital’s 1,400 user stations

SPIE ICS was also selected for the outsourcing of the American Hospital of Paris. The response, designed entirely to measure, is based on a global solution with a “Service Desk” and a local service, a “Knowledge Management” service and governance oriented towards the satisfaction of patients and healthcare personnel. Since June 2023, a dedicated team of 9 technicians from SPIE ICS has been operating within the American Hospital of Paris and implementing new tools and processes to accelerate digital transformation.

SPIE ICS continues to support the American Hospital of Paris with a 140-day remediation mission, beginning at the end of 2023, in order to apply the governance recommendations resulting from a previous cybersecurity audit.
