Sports day: World record holder Kosgei wins the London Marathon again

Triumph repeated: Brigid Kosgei wins in London.

World record holder Brigid Kosgei from Kenya won the London Marathon like last year, but missed the fastest time in an all-women race. In rainy conditions, the 26-year-old won in 2:18:58 hours before the surprise runner-up Sara Hall from the USA (2:22:01), who caught the Kenyan world champion Ruth Chepngetich (2:22:05) a few meters before the finish linen last year Kosgei had improved the official world record to 2:14:04 hours, but in Chicago back then in a mixed race.
