For their annual “Swimsuit” edition, “Sports Illustrated” is once again relying on three beauties on the cover.

The magazine “Sports Illustrated” relies on triple female power for its annual “Swimsuit” issue like in 2020. There will be different covers again. It will feature actress and model Leyna Bloom, tennis star Naomi Osaka (23) and musician Megan Thee Stallion (26).

A special edition in several respects: On the one hand, Megan Thee Stallion is the first female rapper to get her own “Sports Illustrated” cover. Second, Leyna Bloom is the first transgender woman on the cover of the famous swimwear issue and Osaka is the first black athlete on the cover. There are different variants already on Instagram.

Each unique in its own way

“If our three cover models have one thing in common, it is that they have nothing in common”, says MJ Day, Editor-in-Chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. They all have different backgrounds and passions. Each is a reminder that there is beauty in the most varied of forms.

The fact that the magazine has given several models their own cover is nothing new. Last year Kate Bock (33), Jasmine Sanders (30) and Olivia Culpo (29) were photographed together and individually. In 2014, for the 50th anniversary of the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit”, Chrissy Teigen (35), Nina Agdal (29) and Lily Aldridge (35) posed together in crystal clear water.
