Sports journalist Laurie Delhostal, host of “Club Info” on France Info and columnist for the L’Équipe channel, announced on her Instagram account that she was suffering from cancer. She decided to withdraw from her activities on TV to follow her chemotherapy. Laurie Delhostal, mother of a 6-year-old girl, explains on social networks that she “wanted to talk” about her illness.

We will no longer see her (for the moment) on TV on France Info and the L’Équipe channel. Sports journalist Laurie Delhostal announced Monday, November 28, to be suffering from cancer. “Just a month ago I was told: ‘you have cancer'”, she began by writing in a long post on her Instagram account.

“Fear that my hair will suddenly fall out during a commercial”

Then, Laurie Delhostal detailed her new daily life, marked by illness. “I discovered MRIs, Pet Scan, the Pac. Lots of drugs to prevent vomiting. The frozen water polo cap during chemo,” she says. Mother of a 6-year-old girl, the journalist has decided to withdraw from her professional activities. “I stopped the TV right away. Not too much want to laugh in it. Afraid that my hair would suddenly fall out during an ad”, she explains, before specifying that she has not yet “vomited on nobody” and that she still has “all her hair”.

“Life is no longer quite normal”

Laurie Delhostal became known on Canal +, where she officiated in the sports services. She left the channel in 2021. Passionate about handball, she continued her career on France Info and on the L’Équipe channel. The young mother was not sure if she wanted to publicly discuss her illness before sharing her post on Instagram. “Normally, you don’t tell that to everyone, but life isn’t quite normal anymore. I don’t know if it should be said, but I don’t know why it shouldn’t be said. I I don’t particularly want to talk about it, but I wanted to talk”, writes the journalist who recounts having “cried” in front of “half of the nursing staff in Paris”.

Many personalities like Marion Grosjean or even Isabelle Ithurburu gave him their support by commenting on his publication.
