How can users improve the sound on Spotify? You can find out more about that here.

Whether metal, classical, hip-hop or techno, on Spotify users can listen to millions of songs from a wide variety of genres. The music streaming service is one of the most popular in the world. With these tips, listeners can get even better sound on their ears, among other things.

Adjust sound quality

Both users of the free and premium offerings can use the app to set the quality with which music should be streamed or downloaded (premium only). To do this, navigate to “Settings” via “Start” and then to “Sound Quality”. Here listeners can choose between “Automatic”, “Low”, “Normal” and “High”. “Very high” is added to premium users.

If the quality is set to a better value, songs will be streamed or downloaded at a higher bit rate. However, this also consumes more data volume or more storage space on the smartphone. “Automatic” makes the whole thing dependent on the existing network connection.

Use the equalizer

Using the equalizer, users can adjust the sound to their own preferences and, for example, emphasize the bass. Android users will find the function in the same submenu and will be redirected to the audio settings of the smartphone if an equalizer is available. iOS users tap on “Start” / “Settings” / “Playback” and find what they are looking for here. The sound can be adjusted manually or via presets such as “Classic”, “Electronic” and “Dance”.

Listen to music offline

As already mentioned, users can also download playlists, albums or podcasts, for example so that they do not have to use any data volume while on the move. For users of the free offer, however, only podcasts are available for download. Then simply tap on the “Download” button or the “Down arrow” symbol in a playlist, for example. However, users must go online every 30 days so that the downloads are not deleted.

Fall asleep with music

If you like to fall asleep to good music or a podcast, you can also set a sleep timer so that playback stops automatically after a certain time. To do this, simply tap on the three dots above for content that is currently being played and select “Sleep Timer”. Here, users can now determine whether playback should end after 15 minutes or after the end of the song, for example.
