Spotify: Sponsorship contract with FC Barcelona


(CercleFinance.com) – Spotify announced on Wednesday the signing of a long-term partnership with FC Barcelona, ​​at the end of which the music streaming specialist will become the main sponsor of the Catalan football club.

The agreement, which will officially take effect in July, sees Spotify branding appear on the shirts of the club’s men’s and women’s teams from the 2022-2023 season.

In a joint press release, Spotify and FC Barcelona explain that they want to make the blue and garnet jersey a promotional tool for artists around the world.

The deal also includes renaming Camp Nou, the club’s iconic stadium, to ‘Spotify Camp Nou’.

The Swedish technology group explains that many of Barça’s supporters are under the age of 30, its core target, and that they often come from its most dynamic markets at the moment, such as India, India. America or Indonesia.

Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Spotify stock jumped more than 7% on Wednesday following this announcement.
