Deployed a few years ago, the music streaming service Spotify Stations has unfortunately just announced the imminent disappearance of its application.

If you were one of the users of this alternative to Spotify, know that Stations will soon leave the application stores on our smartphones and tablets.

End clap for Spotify Stations

Launched in 2018 in the Australian market, then rolled out more globally the following year, the Spotify Stations application offers an experience based on a system of radio stations. Rather than having a traditional music library, Spotify Stations is presented in the form of lists, divided by categories (genre, artist, etc.), and offers you the possibility of listening to different radio stations which are then played automatically.

But, as relayed by the site Android Policewe learn that Spotify recently sent an email to various users of the application to announce the imminent closure of Spotify Stations:

“First of all, we would like to thank you for being a user of Spotify Stations, the beta app we tested. We have decided not to extend the deployment of this experience, and we would like to inform you that as of May 16, 2022, the Stations application and the web player will no longer be available. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to listen to your favorite stations. In fact, by clicking here, you can easily move all your favorite stations to the main Spotify experience and continue listening”.

Although no reason has been communicated as to the reasons behind this disappearance, it is now known that Spotify Stations will see its mobile application disappear from the App Store and the Google Play Store as of May 16 (and the same will apply to the web app). As indicated in the email sent by Spotify, note that you will still be able to import your favorite stations directly into the Spotify application.
