Baking soda: convenient for cleaning the whole house

Baking soda or sodium (different names for the same product) is a fine white powder. Made from limestone and salt, it can be used without limits. There are two types: baking soda and technique. No matter which one you use, home maintenance can be done with both.

  • To remove a task: sprinkle some baking soda on the task. Leave on overnight. Remove the powder and rinse with a cloth. If it is a garment, pass it to the machine.
  • To clean the taps: sprinkle some baking soda on a sponge. Scour. Rinse off with water.
  • To deodorize: like coffee grounds, bicarbonate has deodorant powers. Simply pour it into a bowl or glass and put it in your fridge.
  • To degrease: if your pan has burned, pour a little baking soda over it. Cover with boiling water. Leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse.
  • To purify the air: dilute baking soda in a sprayer with water. Spray.

White vinegar for efficient cleaning and cleaning

Its smell does not go unnoticed, we grant it to you. White vinegar is however ideal for cleaning the house from top to bottom. It allows you to descale small appliances effortlessly.

  • Kettle, iron, coffee maker : you just need to dilute white vinegar in water and let it sit overnight. The next morning, you will just have to rinse your machine and voila!
  • In the toilets : pour a few drops in the tank, leave to act overnight. The next day, scrub with a brush and then flush the toilet.
  • For floors: pour a little white vinegar in a bucket of hot water. Run the mop normally. Your soil will come out shiny and without stain.
  • For stainless steel windows and fittings: put the white vinegar in a sprayer with a little water. Spray. Leave on for a few moments and rinse with a sponge.

Liquid or soft black soap: useful for doing laundry or washing dishes

Made from vegetable oils, black soap is a super degreasing product! There are two types: soft black soap (in the form of a paste) and liquid black soap. You can then use it on any surface.

  • In the kitchen : hotplates, microwaves, furniture, oven … you just need to mix one or two tablespoons of black soap in water. Rub the surface with a sponge.
  • For floors: as with white vinegar, mix a little black soap in a bowl of hot water. Then pass the mop normally.
  • To do the dishes: pour a few drops of liquid black soap on your sponge. Wash your dishes. Rinse with warm water.
  • To wash your laundry: use one tablespoon of black soap per pound of laundry. Pour it into the detergent drawer and spin it normally.

Marseille soap: a whole house cleaner

Less concentrated than black soap, Marseille soap is no less magical! Inherited from the traditions of the south-east, it easily replaces washing-up liquid or detergent. Please note that many products labeled "Marseille soap" are not on the market. To choose it well, prefer a block of green soap, fact made with olive oil. And if you're not a fan of the soap block, you can find it in the form of chips or liquid soap.

  • To do the dishes: rub the Marseille soap block on the sponge. Wash your dishes. Rinse with warm water.
  • To detach the laundry: rub the moistened soap on the task. Leave to act for a few moments. Put the laundry in the machine or by hand.
  • To clean an iron: rub the Marseille soap on the warm soleplate of the iron. Rinse with a dry cloth or newspaper.
  • To degrease the walls: dilute a handful of chips in a bucket of hot water. Wash your walls. Rinse with clear water.
