Might as well make things clear right away, yes, Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are well included in the line-up of Square-Enix for the Tokyo Game Showbut nothing says it will be to show new things. For a few weeks, the publishers who will be present at the Japanese show have been specifying their line-up, but it should be noted that it is not because a game is mentioned that it will necessarily show new details. And it’s the same thing for the catalog of Square Enix.
A big program, but what deja vu?
The Japanese publisher has announced its complete program, taken over by Gematsu, where we can see the presence of a large number of games, Forspoken at Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunionwhich will both be playable, for example. But all the titles listed here will not necessarily have things to present. Many will only be present to remind the Japanese public of what we already know (the Tokyo Game Show is often a show of repetitions), with trailers broadcast in the Mega Theater from the living room.
We know, however, that Final Fantasy XVI should give news this fall, which could be consistent with the holding of the TGS (yes we know, the real fall starts on September 23). But we imagine that the game is more likely to give news during a PlayStation Showcase, than during the show, so do not necessarily expect something new on this side, except in case of surprise.
