Unexpected and long-awaited return of a franchise that only had three episodes on consoles and one on mobile, Valkyrie Elysium opted for an action-RPG formula that moves away from the systems experienced in previous episodes. The game is also developed by the Japanese studio Soleil, best known for its action games (Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time, Ninjala).
Whether Valkyrie Elysium tells the story of Maria, a new Valkyrie with green eyes, and therefore does not present itself as a direct sequel, it is always a question of fighting in a twilight atmosphere against the backdrop of Ragnarök, the apocalypse which announces the end of the Nordic kingdoms in this well-known mythology. Here, the envoy of Odin must oppose Fenrir, a wolf heralding the end of the world for whom a mysterious brown-skinned rival Valkyrie works. Notable detail, Motoi Sakuraba, who delivered one of his most formidable works with the first Valkyrie Profile in 1999, was recalled to take care of the music.
Compared to the previous video, this second trailer allows you to discover the combat interface with its gauges and its shortcuts, but also a certain number of Einherjars, characters with a more or less tragic destiny who will fight (at least for a moment) with the protagonist to give her elemental bonuses, not to mention some beautiful monstrosities as bosses. Besides a system that seems to value combos, fans will no doubt appreciate the cinematic staging of special attacks (the god arts), like the iconic Nibelung Valesti.
