This weekend, we will hear the tires screeching on the asphalt live on Twitch. Squeezie is organizing its first edition of the GP Explorer, which will be contested in Formula 4, live from Le Mans. But by the way, what do these cars really have under the hood?

This Saturday, October 8 from 4:50 p.m. takes place the first edition of the GP Explorer of Squeezie, to follow live on the star’s Twitch channel. Modeled on the organization of the F1 Grand Prix, this extraordinary event will break the French-speaking stats of Twitch. 40,000 spectators will watch the race on the legendary Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, and hundreds of thousands of viewers are expected on the streaming platform.

Of course, the twenty streamers who will try their hand at driving could not try the legendary F1, queens of motorsport around the world. The event will therefore take place in Formula 4, a model of single-seater racing cars which acts as F1’s “little sister”.

F4 data sheet

  • Develops 170 horsepower
  • 4 cylinders
  • Only around 450 kilos
  • Historical top speed 297 km/h
  • 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds
  • Sequential box
  • Paddles on steering wheel

Mandatory training to pilot these machines

Even if the F4 does not offer at all the same performance as the F1, this machine remains a competitive car, cut for the race. Each car costs more than 100,000 euros, so as much to tell you that the streamers in the running trained for a long time before competing in the final race, this Saturday, October 8.

The craziest thing about this event is that the racing conditions (and live broadcast) frankly flirt with those of real official GPs. During Q3 alone, the number of spectators for Squeezie’s GP Explorer exceeded 450,000. That’s more than the viewership of some editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
