Squid Game on Netflix: these two characters that the creator wants to bring back in season 2


Two iconic characters from the “Squid Game” series will return in the second season, as revealed by program creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.

The writing of the second season of Squid Game has only just begun, as confirmed by the creator of the phenomenon series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, during his visit to the Canneseries festival this year. But if he has not yet been able to fully consider the development of this season 2, the South Korean screenwriter seems to already have more than one idea in mind.

Thus, the latter confirmed to our colleagues of Deadline that two iconic characters from the first season would return to the series. The identity of the first will not surprise anyone, since it is the main protagonist Seong Gi-hun, alias Number 456, the great winner of the game and sole survivor of the trials.

The second character mentioned by Hwang Dong-hyuk is the Front Man (real name Hwang In-ho). This masked man played a secondary role in the first season and serves as the main antagonist of the series. Played by superstar Lee Byung-hun, the latter is a former winner of the game, as well as the older brother of undercover cop Hwang Jun-ho (presumed dead at the end of the first season).

If it will not be possible for him to bring back the young actress Jung Ho-yeon, his character having not survived the penultimate test of the game, the screenwriter Hwang Dong-hyuk nevertheless confided wishing to bring back the latter. in the skin of her twin sister, without knowing if it was a simple joke or real information on the content of the next season.
