A week before the concrete block is up for grabs at the “Swiss Music Awards”, the nominees Riana, Soft Loft and Shuttle played an exclusive “SRF 3 Best Talent” showcase. The music greats Stress, Baschi and Stefan Buck von Hecht came out as their fans.
In a week, on May 8, 2024, we will know who will win the “Swiss Music Award” in the “SRF 3 Best Talent” category. The voting is history, so the “Showcase” with the three nominees and last year’s winner Andryy was a nice live showcase of the four newcomer acts.
Stress surprises Shuttle
Shuttle’s biggest fan? His former boss! And that is none other than rapper Stress. Shuttle was his sound engineer for eight years.
Stress remembers: “He broke my heart. He came to me and said ‘Brother, I love working with you, but I need more time for my vision’.”
For that he deserves the greatest respect, says Stress. «Shuttle is an artist who puts everything into what he makes. The fact that he’s nominated now is really cool!”

And what can the newcomer learn from his former boss? “Stress is an animal on stage,” smiles Shuttle, “I’m not that yet. I’m proud that he came.”
Baschi wanted to surprise Riana
The history? A few months ago, Baschi was a guest presenter on SRF 3. He told the whole of Switzerland what a huge fan of Riana he was. «When I heard her sing, I almost went crazy. I wanted to call her.”
Is that how it happened? “No of course not. Baschi neither wrote nor called me. That never happened,” says Riana. She would have found that really cool.
So it’s high time to finally bring the two together. And even if the surprise was only half a surprise – Riana had already spotted his cowboy hat in the audience – the two got to know each other on stage.

“I’m really a big fan,” enthused Baschi again. «I feel their music incredibly. It’s so fresh and fresh.” So how about a collaboration? “That would be a huge honor!”
By the way, Baschi is still waiting for his first “Swiss Music Award”. Maybe he will draw level with the Appenzeller woman: he is in the running for “Best Male Act”.
Stefan Buck surprises Soft Loft
What is the parallel between the bands Soft Loft and Hecht? “We are also great friends.” The difference? “We could never make music as well as them!” enthuses surprise guest Stefan Buck on stage.
The whole band Hecht celebrates Soft Loft’s music and recently attended a concert together. «The music is just great. “That’s when it clicked!” says Buck. The friendship between the band members at Soft Loft is also noticeable.
And the old “Best Talent” hand Buck (Hecht won the award in 2013!) knows: “Friendship is one of the most important things in the life of a band.” On the one hand it’s fun, but on the other hand it also helps with the “Dürehebe”. Aside from the big stage, making music is also a lot of work.

The fascination for the two musicians is mutual. Soft Loft frontwoman Jorina Stamm has also been to a Hecht concert. Would she like to have Buck as a mentor? “Yes! I was so amazed at how “umegsekklet” he was. He could teach me that.” She was knocked out after just three songs
Andryy surprises with song premiere
And there was another surprise. Last year’s winner Andryy played his new song “Auge” in front of an audience for the first time.

The award ceremony will take place on May 8, 2024 in the Zurich Hallenstadion. If Riana, Shuttle or Soft loft The audience will decide who will win the prize including funding of CHF 10,000. Votes could be cast until April 21st.
