STALKER 2: GSC Game World suspends development of the game due to the war in Ukraine

Pushed back several times since it was made official in May 2018, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl was supposed to come out at the end of the year. But the war that has been going on for about a week now in Ukraine has once again upset the plans of GSC Game World, whose premises are based in Kyiv, to the point that the development of the FPS in the open world is purely and simply suspended for an indefinite period.

The protection of employees and their families above all

As the studio explains in a short video posted on YouTube (be careful because it contains images of the conflict!), this decision was made in order to “to help the employees and their families to survive as much as possible” to the dramatic events unfolding in the country. The company also states that development of the game will resume “after the victory. »

STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl will be available on an unknown date on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
