It was in 2018 that GSC Game World made official STALKER 2which has still not seen the light of day since. Originally announced for 2021, it has been postponed several times and the war in Ukraine has not helped, going so far as to change its title literally to no longer have any link with Russia. The latest news is that STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl was scheduled to release on September 5, 2024 for Xbox Series X|S and PCexcept that it won’t be the case after all. Yes, it’s been postponed again, but This extra wait should be short-lived and the developers even make fun of it in a video.
The new release date for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is now set for November 20, 2024. in order to give the team more time to refine it, as its director Yevhen Grygorovych explained:
We know you may be tired of waiting and we really appreciate your patience. These extra two months will give us the chance to fix more “unexpected anomalies” (or simply “bugs”, as you call them). We are always grateful for your continued support and understanding, it means a lot to us. We are just as excited as you are to finally release the game and let you experience it for yourself.
But that’s not all, because in order to prepare us for the release, A Developer Deep Dive in collaboration with Xbox will be broadcast on Monday, August 12. We will find there a whole bunch of elements not presented until now, including gameplay unpublished with the presentation of the world and the cutscenesas well as interviews and elements behind the scenes on the creation of the game, but also a walkthrough complete story quest, so fans should be in for a treat.
