Star Citizen: questions / answers about the Cutter

The Cutter is a new Star Citizen ship, revealed at IAE 2952. The developers are posting a Q&A to fully understand what sets this starter ship apart from the competition.

Comparison to other starter ships

The Cutter features a fully fitted interior, 4 SCU cargo hold capacity, and larger fuel tanks.

Performance

The Cutter is quite fast in a straight line but less maneuverable than the competition.

The Cutter has two size 2 hardpoints, but you shouldn’t expect to win against specialized combat devices.

The Cutter has only one shield, which is half as much as the other starter ships. To compensate, he has more reinforced armor and structure.

The Cutter has a larger surface area than the other starting ships and is therefore less discreet.

Mooring collars

The Cutter does not have mooring collars.

Use as a parasite ship

The Cutter can fit into an XS hangar, like that of the 890 Jump.

Vehicle transport

Although it was not designed for this, it can carry a MULE or an STV.

Internal organization

The Cutter is made up of three watertight compartments: the cockpit, the living area and the rear.

The living area has a bed, a bathroom and storage.

In the rack, you can store two handguns, a long gun, a heavy weapon and a MultiTool.
