The Ship Showdown is a major Star Citizen out-of-game event, culminating in the creation of new in-game items for the best playable ships.
Community Call from August 15 to 29
The community call aims to define which will be the 16 ships represented during the final phases. They will be selected by the developers based on community creations. It is in fact up to the players to create content highlighting a ship in the game (video, photo, audio, etc.) and to post it on the associated twitter of #SCShipShowdown or on the community hub. It is also possible to vote for his creation or for his favorite ship here.
Live Showdown from August 31 to September 15
These are the knockout stages. Each ship faces one of the 15 others selected on the field of community voting. Each match lasts 24 hours and the ship with the most votes qualifies for the next round, until the final at the end of which the champion will be crowned.
Coronation on September 15
On this date, the winner of the Ship Showdown 2022 will be elected. It is customary for the three ships making up the podium to be awarded exclusive paints, and for the champion to have an in-game figurine bearing his or her image, but this year’s awards have not yet been disclosed.
