Star Ocean: The Divine Force Reveals Its Opening, An Update on the Latest Playable Characters, Es’owa Mini-Game and More

It is this week that will be launched Star Ocean: The Divine Forcea sixth episode numbered (only in the Japanese title) signed again tri-Ace and taking the form of a Action RPG. A demo allows you to try it on consoles, announced during the Tokyo Game Show in addition to the final team members featured on the cover art. A lot of elements have been communicated by Square-Enix since, which we will discuss later in this article. To start, make way for the intro cinematic of the game during which the song is played pandora of HYDE. Not a question here of CGI expensive selling dreams, these are adventure scenes that have been arranged together, for a result that clearly lacks identity and coherence…

Next, the fourth and fifth “Mission Report” have gone live, giving the latest information on the game’s content ahead of its launch. The 4th opens with a succession of scenes, one of which explains why Marielle L. Kenny (Fairouz Ai / Erica Mendez) will betray the Federation to join us. Above all, we learn that Merchant Welch Vineyard (Tomoe Hanba / Melissa Fahn) will be making a comebackshe who has been present in all the games since Till the End of Time. She will introduce us to creating objectsrequiring materials unearthed here and there, in addition to the skills of the members of the group according to the category (production of care mixtures, crafting general, equipment forge or even engineering). Also introduced are the pilot of theYdas, Chloe Canaries (Yuka Otsubo / Christina Vee) and Antonio Lawrence (Ryota Takeuchi / Jay Preston) who is none other than the brother of Raymond and also a merchant captain.

special events will occur throughout the adventure when certain characters meet, independently of the narrative thread, as well as conversations between team members, called Private actionswith multiple choice dialogues impacting their relationships and potentially ending the game. The miniature-based mini-game, already mentioned when the various editions were announced, will be called Es’owa internationally and will be introduced in the port city of Rythal, then playable throughout the adventure with NPCs. The tokens representing the characters of the license can be obtained in different ways, even by finding chests. This new starocean will not escape its share of side quests either and will have a fast travel system between certain points on the map.

The 5th and final report introduces several allies and enemies. On the one hand, we find the king Raimbaut Aucerius (Hiroshi Shirokuma / Matt Mercer) and the leader of the kingdom guard Neyan Keizaal (Yūma Uchida / JP Karliak). The other, the emperor Bohld’or Il Vey’l (Masaki Terasoma/Todd Haberkorn)which seems to be manipulated by Vyrians, and the captain of theAstoria, Bennett Maudsley (Go Shinomiya/Chris Cox)who will threaten us in the name of Federation. The scenario visibly more complex than it seems at first glance is thus approached through all these beautiful people, introducing a very mysterious race called Scorpium.

One of the last two members of the team, not a word (Takaya Kuroda / Jamieson Price), is precisely a humanoid who has been integrated with the Scorpium, whatever that means beyond having gone fully mechanical. He wields a katana and uses two different styles resulting in so many categories of skills, which make him a true space samurai. Finally, Theo Klemrath (Takuya Satō / Ray Chase) is the cousin of Laeticia whom he considers his sisterfighting with a halberd relying mostly on his strength, even being able to summon a dragon.

An overview of boss fights introduces the notion of weak points in our enemies, which we will have to aim for to gain the upper hand over them, and of areas of their body to destroy in order to weaken them. A dungeon has even been specially designed to pit us against bosses, Den’mohr Delve, which we had already seen with his confrontation with a kind of toad. Finally, the video gives some useful tips during these games in real time.

Videos dedicated to the last members of the crew were also broadcast, following those of Raymond Lawrence, Laeticia Aucerius, Helena, Albaird Bergholm, Midas Felgreed and Nina Deforges. Marielle excels in the art of hand-to-hand combat, but also in the handling of firearmsand puts justice above all else. Malkya was also entitled to his own, as well as the last two arrivals Theo Klemrath and not a word, but only in Japanese for now. You can also find the videos in the language of Mishima on the following page, this dubbing mixing much better with some chara designs

  • Marielle L. Kenny is the second-in-command of the Pangalactic Federation starship, the Astoria, and scion of the heroic Kenny family. His sense of duty is unparalleled, putting pressure on himself to meet the expectations of others and maintain the pedigree tied to his last name. She graduated from the military academy at the top of her class.
  • Malkya Trathen is the leader of the Trathen, one of the many races that live on the southern continent of Nihlbeth. Malkya is highly intelligent with a quick and intuitive mind. Like all members of his race, his malleable body allows him to assume any form at will.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is therefore expected on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC this Thursday, October 27. You can pre-order it on Amazon at a price of €59.99. Many visuals are available on page 3.
